Fall Festival Fun in Lake County, Florida
October and November are fantastic months to celebrate fall festivities in Florida. The weather has turned cooler (slightly) and everyone is ready to get out and celebrate.
Here are our choices for some fall festivals to take part in.
Suncreek Brewery, along with Michale Ali's and Savoree will have a 2 day Oktoberfest event starting October 5. Expect german music and dancing, German food, contests and more.
And on October 12th, the Royal Palm Railway in Mount Dora will host Oktoberfest on the Train. Get more details here.
Lakeridge Winery is a fantastic place to get your holiday spirit going, especially in Florida. Sit outside and listen to the blues with the BBQ and Blues Festival on October 11-13th. Or visit during their Holiday Open House Nov 8-10.
A long-standing tradition, Long & Scott's farm has a corn maze open on the public on the weekends through November. Located in Zellwood, the farm is about a 25-minute drive from Clermont. The farm also has a fall market and cafe open where you can buy more than your share of corn, along with other fresh produce. Learn more here.
Each weekend at Southern Hill Farms, you'll find a fall festival and pumpkin patch. Also, Lake Catherine Farms has live music each weekend.
If you're looking for a little more spooky, but not necessarily Halloween Horror Nights, look no further. Lake Catherine Blueberries, this time at night, has a Dark Forrest Trail of Terror and a Haunted Halloween Maze. Follow their Facebook Events page for more details.
Trunk or Treating (trick or treating out of organized parked cars) is quite a popular way to get the kids out in a safe environment for trick or treating. Local churches often put on these events. Simply google Trunk or Treat and your closest city to find events near you. Even if you don't have kids, it's a great way to enjoy the myriad of costumes you'll see!
Did you know Mount Dora offers Ghost Tours in October? With as old as the city is, you're sure to hear some great ghost stories. Check out the calendar here for available dates.
