This county in general doesn't know how to function. My mother and I have left emails, phone calls etc. for months, now do you think they ever returned our calls?NO! I haven't been in school sense February this year. And they did nothing to hep us out to get me enrolled. So they tolled me to do FLVS online so I can make up what I missed sense we moved here. Now I am almost done with the courses, maybe around 1 unit left and we went to go talk to someone about enrolling me to do both online and school. But they said no! And if I were to enroll that my points for that semester are wiped clean. So I was upset, went home got an email from my online teacher saying I could do both and there should be no problem with it.We called the number they said it depends on my school (Gateway High School). So we went to the offices of Osceola schools and talked to some one if i could enroll, they said it depends on the school. Here we go again with the no answering no emailing school. We have been emailing everyone no writes/calls back !I am sick and tire of this county with their way of running a school.School doesn't want me?I don't want them

Gateway High school is an excellent school. It has different programs that are academic such as the Gold Seal Medical Program and even students from the Osceola School of the Arts go to Gateway for the drama and art classes. We also have a great ROTC program that is Marines and we won states. We have many performances from the band and have many many plays from the drama department. Students from all over the county go to our school for the I.B program. This is school is amazing and it really has guidance counselor that cares for students and never forgets about you. They remember your name and every time they see they say hello and greet you. Overall this school is an 5-start school.

I love GHS and believe this is one of the best HS in Osceola County. My daughter graduated from GHS in May 2007, and is currently finishing her Bachellors degree in USF and enrolled in a master's degree program. The teachers and administrators at Gateway HS are extremely helpful. I absolubtly highly recomment Gateway HS. Go Panther!!!

I heard so many bad things about the school but I believe a school does not make the student. The student makes the school. So far, my son has not had one problem. He has so many friends. He is in the honors program. While the curriculum is a bit tough he is keeping up the pace and it's made him much more responsible and serious about his future. He plays varsity football and now helps out with the basketball team. He's taken the PSAT's and has a feel for the SAT exams. He is looking forward to the next few years and already thinking about college. This is the attitude I want him to keep. The teachers are good. I've emailed them on several occasions when I have had concerns and they have responded all the time. Some have emailed me at their initiative. Communication is the key to success!

The standard of the school has greatly decrease this year mainly, I believe, because of the cuts in school funds. Otherwise the school is great and the teachers are helpfull and well educated

i believe this school is better than the average public school. i am in the IB program over there and the students are great and willing to learn at all costs. i think that if you know that your parents can't afford your college try to get to this school so that you will excel in your academics. this school can up your atheltic ability but not as high as poinciana high school(basketball, football)

The principal is very involved. He runs a 'tight ship'. Security is high. Students can choose to associate with other students who are focused on academics. The rumors that run around about this school are unjustified.

The mainstream courses at Gateway High School are mostly acceptable, though some are subpar, due partially to the low-budget school district and lack of sufficient numbers in the teaching staff. However, I remain impressed with the International Baccalaureate courses and teachers, which seem to be excellent. However, in an ideal environment such as an IB classroom, where students are motivated, disciplined and willing to learn, it probably wouldn't matter if the teacher was a complete moron. Unfortunately, as is to be expected, students still remain who are there only because they are too young to drop-out and create continuous discipline problems for the school. Under the new principal, though, discipline seems to be taking a turn for the better.

The main problem with this school is that it is overpopulated! The IB program is great, however great regular academic classes as well as good teachers are harmed because there are just way too many students per classroom. Some sports are not that successful, but yet they do provide a good opportunity for students to develop their athletic abilities.

To me the school is not good at all they wait for the last minute to tell your students if they graduate at all. They know these students are paying for their senior fees and all and wait 2 days before graduation to tell a student sorry but your not graduating.
